Upcoming January & February Training Courses
As we move into the new year, it’s the ideal time for businesses to review their approach to health, safety, and employee wellbeing. At Combined Safety Solutions, we’re pleased to be delivering two essential training courses in January and February designed to support safer, healthier workplaces.
Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) Training
Mental health issues can affect anyone, at any time. The Mental Health First Aider (MHFA) course is designed to give participants a deeper understanding of mental health and the confidence to support colleagues who may be experiencing mental ill health.
During the course, delegates will learn how to:
Recognise common mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders
Identify early warning signs that someone may be struggling
Start supportive, non-judgemental conversations around mental health
Provide initial help and reassurance in a mental health crisis
Signpost individuals towards appropriate professional support and internal workplace resources
The course also explores the importance of reducing stigma, building resilience, and promoting positive mental wellbeing across the organisation. By training Mental Health First Aiders, businesses can foster a culture where employees feel supported, listened to, and more confident to seek help when needed.
This course is delivered over two days, with one day per week to support learning and reflection. Sessions take place at Hadleigh Business Centre, Ipswich, on 19th & 26th January and 13th & 20th February. The cost is £250 + VAT per person.
Manual Handling Training
Manual handling remains one of the leading causes of workplace injuries, often resulting in musculoskeletal disorders, lost working time, and increased absence. Our Manual Handling training course focuses on practical skills and knowledge that can be applied immediately in the workplace.
The course covers:
An overview of manual handling legislation and employer responsibilities
Understanding how injuries occur and the impact of poor manual handling practices
Identifying hazards and assessing manual handling risks
Safe lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling techniques
How to use good posture and correct movement to reduce strain
The importance of individual capability and task planning
This half-day course is suitable for employees at all levels and can be tailored to suit different working environments and job roles.
Manual Handling training sessions will take place on 14th & 21st January and 11th & 18th February, at Hadleigh Business Centre, Ipswich, and Hersden, Canterbury. Pricing is £100 + VAT per person for Hadleigh and £120 + VAT per person for Canterbury.
